/OOCYTE (EGG) FREEZING
Whether you want to postpone pregnancy or you have a medical condition that affects your fertility, egg freezing may preserve your ability to have a baby in the future. Serving the greater Los Angeles area, including Manhattan Beach and Long Beach, Matthew Macer, MD, at Macer Fertility Center specializes in fertility preservation procedures such as egg freezing, using his expertise and a state-of-the-art facility to ensure optimal success. The process is quick and takes about 10-12 days from start to finish. To learn more about egg freezing or to learn if you’re a good candidate, call the office in Beverly Hills/West LA, Rolling Hills Estates, or Pasadena, California, or book an appointment online.
/IVF
In vitro fertilization (IVF) is one type of assisted reproductive technology. To perform IVF, Dr. Macer stimulates the ovaries with hormones identical to the ones made in the brain. This allows him to obtain many eggs, as opposed to a single egg that is normally grown with each menstrual cycle. Once mature, he removes the eggs and fertilizes them with sperm in his state of the art embryology lab, creating embryos. The entire process usually takes about 10-12 days.
Once ready to conceive, the embryos are then placed into the woman’s uterus or kept frozen and preserved for future IVF procedures.
/Endometriosis
Endometriosis is one of the top three causes of female infertility. About 30-50% of women with endometriosis are diagnosed with infertility.
There are numerous ways that inflammation and scarring can lead to infertility. For example, they may affect sperm motility, prevent ovulation, or block the egg from traveling through the fallopian tube. The severity of your endometriosis is directly associated with your risk of infertility.
/Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)
Polycystic ovary syndrome is one of the most common gynecological problems. It’s also a top cause of infertility, and it affects your whole body, leading to weight gain and Type 2 diabetes. In addition to specializing in women’s health and infertility, Matthew Macer, MD, at Macer Fertility Center takes a holistic approach to your health care, which is exactly what you need for a complex condition like polycystic ovary syndrome.
/RECURRENT PREGNANCY LOSS
About 15-20% of known pregnancies end in the first trimester, yet more than half of all couples who have recurrent pregnancy loss go on to have a healthy baby without seeking treatment. Matthew Macer, MD, at Macer Fertility Center encourages you to get medical care, however, so you have a better chance of overcoming multiple miscarriages and having a healthy baby.
/IUI
Intrauterine insemination is often used to overcome infertility caused by issues such as a low sperm count, cervix problems, and unexplained infertility. As a fertility expert with extensive experience performing intrauterine insemination, Matthew Macer, MD, at Macer Fertility Center has helped many women and couples find a solution for their infertility and achieve a healthy pregnancy.
